I'm more sua ku than I really look

Places in Singapore I'd never been to before

I'd been wanting to do an entry on "Things I'd never done before" for months already... but I figured I'd better do places first. This will be a good laugh. At my own expense, of course.

For non-Singaporeans, "sua ku" means ignorant, in loose translation. Or more aptly, frog-in-the-well.

1) Night Safari

Zoo, many times. But not the Night Safari. I vaguely remember that the Night Safari opened its doors when I was 8 or so.... omfg that's 10+ years ago!! I just didn't have the guts to visit with my friends during Halloween :(

I know, I know! But I'm pretty sure there are people living in other countries, for e.g., U.S who'd never left their state before. Although I'm in no stand to argue, given that our Singapore is just a small red dot muchmuchmuchmuchmuch smaller than any of their states.

2) Geylang

I mean of it as an overview, not the red light district that immediately comes to your mind (don't deny!). I know it's kinda unbelievable but I've really NEVER been there before, except passing by on the bus (Lor Geylang on the road signs means that it's Geylang I'm passing by right?)

Cheryl always tells me about the fabulous food you can find there, but I can't even imagine how does the stalls look like. I do know there are a lot of durian stalls though.

2) Marina Barrage

What is the proper pronunciation of barrage? Whenever I see the word, I'll associate it with "garage". So I just call it bur-rahj.

Anyway, around 2-3 years ago when this dam/reservoir (I couldn't be bothered really) was completed, it became this really hotttttt place for couples. Everyone was talking about how romantic it was at night, like it was the perfect dating spot. I think people fly kites & picnic there too? Till date, I'd never step foot on it, be it day or night.

4) Helix bridge

Another romantic place I'd never been before.

5) NEX Serangoon

This is forgivable, isn't it? It just started business not too long ago, just about 3 months. I heard it's full of restaurants & eateries, just like Bedok Point (not that I've been there before, but neither does friends who lived in Bedok!)

6) Marina Bay Sands

Nope. Not to the hotel, not to the shopping. (Actually, I didn't know there's a shopping centre until I saw pictures in my friend's blog. That's quite... hopeless) And I have people saying I'm spoilt/atas etc. Whatever!

7) Resorts World Sentosa

The closest I've been is looking across the harbour from Vivocity after dinner with my family. LOL even I feel like laughing at what I'd just typed.

As with MBS, I'd never even been there to walk around or take photos, even if I'm still a year away from being of legal age to enter the casino.

8) Universal Studios Singapore

Of course I know of its existence, but to be honest, I'm not overtly keen to visit any of the places above. I'm just too lazy! I'm dead certain there are people who are as homely as me... I really can laze at home all day following this schedule of mine. Other than that, it's just town. So it's just home-town-home-town.

Well, at least I've been to Escape. Oh and the flyer! Photobucket
